ABOUT THE CAST | Bob Himlin (Andy) | | Last seen at Scripps Ranch Theatre in the Ensemble of Side by Side by Sondheim, Bob also appeared in SRT's How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as Bud Frump, receiving SRT and Aubrey awards for his performance. Elsewhere, Bob has been seen at Fritz Blitz 2004 in Invisible Bob (Bill) and in Patio Playhouse's Man of La Mancha (Padre -- Aubrey award) and 110 in the Shade (Starbuck). Like his character, Bob was born near Pittsburgh, went to Catholic elementary and high schools, stopped attending Mass, married outside the church, and still does not believe he will burn in hell. To hedge his bets, after closing this show, he is rushing off to sing in a Christmas concert at a Catholic church. He dedicates his performance to the miracles in his life -- his two wonderful children Lorelei and Noah, who he trusts are wise enough to find and challenge their own beliefs in life's spiritual quest. Special thanks to his "agent" Karin*, and to Dave and Jim for their belief in him. . | | | | |
Top of Page ABOUT THE PRODUCTION TEAM | Jim Caputo (Director) | Jim’s play, Maternal Spirits, opened our season this year to critical acclaim. It also won first place at the 2003 Palm Springs International Playwriting contest and was featured at The Ashland New Play Festival. This past summer, Jim’s tragi-comedy, Body Shop was selected for the 2004 Fritz Blitz and his, At Rise:, was voted a “Best of Fest” at this year’s Actors Festival at the Lyceum Theatre. Jim also earned an “Outstanding Writing” award at that festival. A veteran director, he has directed three plays in San Diego and each time won the theater’s Best Director Award as well as an Aubrey nomination. As an actor, Jim has played the lead in Amadeus, the Lion In Winter, A Man For All Seasons and Othello among others. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild, The Scripps Ranch Theatre Board of Directors and the Actor’s Alliance of San Diego. He wishes to thank his wife Judy, without whom, he would be mindlessly wandering the aisles of Wal-Mart. | | Jamie Haire (Assistant Director) | Jamie is originally from Texas where she majored in Theatre Arts and participated in the production of numerous plays both collegiate and community. Since arriving in San Diego, she has performed in Rumors and Once Upon a Mattress at Scripps Ranch Theatre, Isn’t It Romantic and Crimes of the Heart at PowPAC. Many thanks go out to Jamie’s friends and family for their support and for putting up with her doubts, craziness, occasional inappropriate sense of humor and countless cats. | | | Scott Padrick (Lighting Designer) | JScott is pleased to be designing his 3rdproduction for SRCT. A active local designer, Scott has design credits with many corporate, theatrical and religious organizations all over the United States. When Scott is not making magic with lights, he enjoys gourmet cooking, backcountry excursions and water sports. | | Martha Phillips (Costumes) | Scripps Ranch Theatre: Arsenic and Old Lace, Most recent work elsewhere: Breaking Legs – NCRT, The Cosen – NCRT (Wig Master).
