ABOUT THE CAST

Kenneth Gray – Wayne Wellacre

Kenneth is thrilled to be making his debut on the SRT stage.  Most recently seen as Jesse Kiplinger in Plaza Suite at the Broadway Theater in Vista, he also appeared in last winter’s Moonlight Stage Production of Room Service.  Some of his favorite stage roles include:  Paul Sycamore in You Can’t Take it With You, Eliot in the Goodbye Girl and Bob Smith in The Days and Nights of Beebee Fenstermaker.  Once selected as one of Americas Up and Coming Comedians, Ken has been a Radio DJ and performs frequently as a voiceover artist.

Kaly McKenna – M.J. (Mary Jane) McMann

Kaly is pleased to be making her SRT debut.  She was most recently seen on the POWPac stage as Persis Devore in Let’s Murder Marsha.  Kaly would like to take a moment to thank TCF and MRF for making absolutely everything worthwhile.  I love you both “this much” (insert hand gesture here).  Happy Holiday Season to everyone and a very special Happy 18th Birthday to my Boogie!

Michele Guisti – Zorah Bloch

Ah, what a great feeling to be back at Scripps.  Wait, this doesn’t look like a restaurant store front in the Mira Mesa mall.  This isn’t 1993, is it?  Now hold on, we aren’t doing Shot in the Dark, are we?  And we’re missing Jim!  Must ask Dave. . . . he’s older.

Danny Herrera – Luther Beatty

This is Danny’s first appearance at SRT.  Danny has appeared in the San Diego Junior Theater productions of Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse, Ramona the Pest Quimby, and abridged versions of A Christmas Carol and Hamlet.  Danny is a 5th grader at Dana Middle School in Point Loma.  He enjoys playing with his dog, Oliver, reading comic books and playing the clarinet.

Jim Caputo – Sidney Carlton

At SRT, Jim directed Greetings in 2004 and Scapino in 2005.  He wrote, Maternal Spirits, which opened our 2004 season.  Jim has won numerous playwriting awards including the prestigious Ashland New Play Festival.  His plays have been produced from New York to California and points in between.  Jim is a member of the Dramatists Guild.  He wishes to thank his wife, Judy, for her patience and her pasta.

Darlene Cleary – Dorothy Tree Hapgood

Darlene is happy to once again appear at S.R.T.  She played Emily in Greetings here two years ago.  Other venues she’s performed at have been Sixth at Penn, Diveraionary, Octad-One and Lamplighters.

Dave Hibler – Phil Hewlitt

It’s true…..Dave’s first show with Scripps Ranch was A Shot in the Dark in 1993 when we were in a store front “see thru” at Mira Mesa Mall next to Newberry’s.  (remember them?)  Two years later we were in our current space when he appeared in The Murder Room and now, 11 years later he is cast in Inspecting Carol.  In his spare time he likes to party, socialize, travel and tell people that he is a graduate of The Ali MacGraw School of Acting.

Michael Hubbard – Walter E. Parsons

Michael Hubbard is making his debut with Scripps Ranch Theater in Inspecting Carol.  Michael was last seen in three one act performances with the Actors Alliance Festival. Michael grew up in La Mesa in East County, and is pleased to be able to perform at SRT, one of the wonderful local theater groups in San Diego County.

But he has a taste for drama, having played roles ranging from H.L. Mencken in Inherit the Wind  to Stewart in Pack of Lies and Chang in Lost Horizon. Other credits include the San Diego Rep’s productions of Hamlet and Three Hotels where he understudied Felton Perry and Doug Jacobs in the roles of Polonius and Kenneth.  He also played multiple roles in Aunt Dan and Lemon at North Coast Repertory Theatre.  Jerry is delighted to be playing one of his first comedy roles and to be doing it here at Scripps Ranch Theatre.

Kirk Irvine –- Larry Vauxhall

This is Kirk’s first appearance at SRT.  He was recently seen at POWPac as the Father in The Green Valley Gusher.  He received two Aubrey Nominations this year, one for his role as Henry Lodge in Move Over Mrs. Markham (Major Support in a Comedy), and another for Linus in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Major Support in a Musical)Kirk also appeared as Teddy Brewster in the Ramona Community Theatre’s 2005 production of Arsenic and Old Lace.  In his spare time (12 minutes a week) he writes music and maintains his status as the world’s worst golfer.

David Ferraro – Bart Frances

David has no theater biography or resume and is not quite certain what machinations in his mind have lead him to this:  HIS THEATER DEBUT.

Jamie Haire – Betty Andrews

Jamie is originally from Texas where she majored in Theatre Arts. She has participated in numerous shows, both collegiate and community, by acting or doing backstage work. You may have seen her recently on the POWPac stage in Sorry, Wrong Number/The Hitchhiker. Other POWPac performances include Isn’t It Romantic and her personal favorite, Crimes of the Heart.
