What’s the play about?
"I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE
PERFECT, NOW CHANGE" is off-Broadway’s longest running musical (more than 4500
performances). A great ‘date night play’, it celebrates the modern-day suburban
mating game and the joys of dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives,
and in-laws.
This fun musical will be
directed by Marjorie Mae Treger and produced by David A. Ainsworth and Jennifer
Collins. Musical Direction by Rick Shaffer.
Director Marjorie Mae Treger
describes “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” as “the kind of show that
makes you want to nudge your seat companion and laugh with recognition. This
musical is a frolic through the romantic evolution of relationships. Not only
is it fun and fast paced; it will also sneak up on you with surprisingly moving
moments. Join us for a great ‘date night’ of theatre.”
According to producer David
Ainsworth, ‘I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change’ is a musical in the
strict sense that it has people on stage, singing and dancing. But in the larger
sense it is a story about falling in love, dating, the trials and thrills of
being married, and growing old together. It's a poignant look at what it means
to be in a relationship and, thus, is a story about all of us. It is farcical
and touching at the same time and ultimately it shows us that we all go through
much of the same difficulties throughout life, and that we're not alone.”
Jill Drexler, SRT’s Artistic
Director, says, “Whether you're 18 or 80, the chances are you'll see yourself in
I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.
Bring your family, friends and assorted loved ones to a great night of music
and laughter.”
