Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo, where this month’s paycheck covers last month’s bills, and where Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling who’s made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out. With his signature humorous glow, Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakeable hopes that come with having next to nothing in America.

Kenny Bordieri (Stevie) A native San Diegan, Kenny spent the last four years completing training at both the Pacific Conservatory Theatre (PCPA) as a member of their 50th anniversary class, and Utah State University as a member the 2016 BFA acting class. Kenny is overjoyed to make his first appearance back in San Diego at Scripps Ranch Theatre. College and conservatory credits include Howie in Rabbit Hole , Kent in Reason to be Pretty (USU); and Simonides in Pericles (PCPA). Professional credits include Marcellus in Hamlet (PCPA); Officer Brophy in Arsenic & Old Lace, and Rod in Singin’ in the Rain (Lyric Rep).


Heidi Bridges (Margaret) thinks it’s wicked awesome to be making her debut at SRT with this amazing cast. Her most recent performances include Mrs. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice, Amanda Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie and the Nurse in Medea at The Horton Grand Theatre; as well as roles in The Store Series, and in short films, Thank God for Jelly and As She Fades. Heidi also has recently shot some PSAs and done background work in feature films and television. She is trained in Meisner and Chekhov techniques. Most importantly, Heidi would like to thank her family for their support.


Susan Clausen (Jean) is thrilled to revisit her Boston roots in Good People. Other SRT credits include Absurd Person Singular, Moonlight and Magnolias, California Suite, How the Other Half Loves and Social Security. Lamb’s Players Theatre credits include The NerdHarvey, A Man for All Seasons, Till We Have Faces and The Diviners. Susan also has performed as Clara Schumann with the San Diego Symphony, and she was also a storyteller with Write Out Loud’s TwainFest ’10-’15. Other local credits include Defying Gravity, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Auntie Mame, Dancing at Lughnasa and Jake’s Women at North Coast Rep. But Susan’s favorite role is that of “Mom” to Hailey.


Kathi Copeland (Dottie) Credits include Precious Little (InnerMission Productions, Craig Noel Award Nominee 2015); TheCar Plays(La Jolla Playhouse); That 24-Hour Thing (San Diego Fringe 2015); Kin (Ion Theatre); To Kill A Mockingbird (New Village Arts); San Diego I Love You 2.0 and Warrior’s Duet (Circle Circle dot dot); Community Voices (The Old Globe); American Idyll (Playwright’s Project); Swimming in the Shallows (InnerMission); Night of the Iguana (The Goodman Theatre); and Balm in Gilead at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago.


Ted Leib (Mike) Recent credits include Otto Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank (Broadway Theatre, Vista); Louie in Lost In Yonkers and Norman in The Boys Next Door (Oceanside Theatre Company); Benjamin Guggenheim in Titanic, Dillard in Foxfire, Cmdr. Harbison in South Pacific, and Elle’s Father in Legally Blonde (Moonlight Stage Productions). Other favorites: Preston in Boomers (Lambs Players); Jeff in Brigadoon and Ben in The Scarlet Pimpernel (FCLO); Harold Hill in The Music Man (LCP); and Sky Masterson in Guys And Dolls (CCT). In 2016 Ted directed both The Dark at the Top of the Stairs and The Fantasticks here at SRT.


Allen Rachel (Voice of Priest) At age 83, Allen, a retired decorated Brigadier General, a PHD, and a great-grandfather of 18 beautiful children, thought his bucket list was near complete and life no longer held many surprises. But thanks to SRT he finds himself immersed in the heady world of theatre. Allen would like to thank Eric Poppick, and the staff and cast of Good People for their patience to accommodate an old man making his first theatrical appearance. He reminds us, “You’re never too old to try something new.”


Julie Sachs (Understudy for Jean) has been working on San Diego stages for close to 20 years. She was last seen at SRT in Tribute, preceded by a feminine ending, California Suite and I’m Not Rappaport, amongst others. Select San Diego credits include Every Path (MOXIE Theatre/La Jolla Playhouse Co-Production WOW Festival); Jade Heart, Eleemosynary (MOXIE Theatre); Poster Boys (MOXIE/Diversionary Theatre Co-Production); Mud, Marat/Sade, Grapes of Wrath (ion Theatre); In the Next Room or the vibrator play (San Diego Rep-understudy). Other notable credit: In June, 2000, Julie performed The National Anthem, solo, at a Padres Game at Qualcomm Stadium.


Alexandra Slade (Kate) is thrilled to be making her SRT debut. Recent theatre credits include Ragtime (San Diego Musical Theatre); Oklahoma (New Village Arts); Spring Awakening (Barnstage Company); Hairspray (Welk Resort Theatre); Bare: A Pop Opera (Diversionary Theatre); and Chicago (Coronado Playhouse). Eric Poppick (Director) moved to San Diego in 2006 after spending 30 years in Los Angeles, working as an actor and director for stage, television and film. Since his arrival, he directed the world premiere of Ripples from Walden Pond at Cygnet Theatre and the world premiere of W.C. Fields by Himself! at North Coast Repertory Theatre. He also has directed five productions for SRT: Play it Again Sam, Over the River and Through the Woods,a feminine ending, Sunset Park and Skin Deep. Local acting credits include From Another House (The Old Globe); BUG,In the Heat of the Night (ion theatre); Beau Jest, Barefoot in the Park (AVO Theatre); An Enemy of the People (Intrepid); To Kill a Mockingbird, Death of a Salesman, Golden Boy, Four Dogs and a Bone (New Village Arts); The History Boys [Patté Award] (Cygnet); Morning’s at Seven (North Coast Rep); The Heir Apparent, The Sunshine Boys, How the Other Half Loves, Deathtrap, Not Now, Darling (SRT); One for the Road (Lyceum). Also numerous theater, film and TV credits in L.A. Eric has a BFA in Acting from Boston University and an MA in Directing from The State University of New York.

Barbara Barber (Production Manager) first produced Scapino for SRT in 2005. Since then she’s produced Sylvia, Inspecting Carol, The O’Conner Girls, The Shadow Box, Crimes of the Heart, Almost Maine, Over the River and Through the Woods, a feminine ending, The Liar,Sunset Park, Skin Deep, and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, all for SRT.

Jennifer Peters (Stage Manager) has been stage-managing locally, nationally, and internationally for 30 years. Favorite venues include North Coast Rep, ion, Diversionary, touring far and wide with the Triple Espresso Company and, of course, Scripps Ranch Theater, where she is happy to be retuning for her 8th show. She would like to thank Charles for the amazing amount of love and support, and Harvey, simply for being.

Roslyn Lehman (Costume Design) has been designing costumes for 20 years in the San Diego area, having credits with Scripps Ranch Theatre, Moonlight Stage Productions, Oceanside Theatre Co., Premiere Productions, North Coast Rep, Mira Costa College, and others. Most recently at SRT she and her daughter Renetta Lloyd designed the costumes for The Fantasticks. Their specialty garments and costumes can be found at

Bob Shuttleworth (Scenic Designer) In his second year as Scenic Designer with SRT, Good People marks Bob’s 8th production on the SRT stage. A Poway resident, Bob holds a BFA in Theater and works with Pacific Ridge School, in Carlsbad, designing sets, mentoring students in Woodworking and co-teaching a Middle School class in Stage Design. Bob has designed in many theaters from New Jersey to Oklahoma, to South Carolina, to Georgia, to Oregon, and in San Diego.
