[Previous Seasons] [Home] Show Photos Cast Production Team Show Credits Reviews Scrapbook Awards Synopsis: Carol is being driven crazy by her charming monster of an ex-husband, Victor, and his new wife who employ every trick in the book to end Carol’s six thousand dollars a week alimony. Carol’s quirky kids work at Victor’s pasta restaurant chain, and Carol is sure Victor is bullying her son into an early grave. But things are not what they seem and there is plenty of double and triple-crossing going on, as the zingers are flying and the backstabbing is happening at a fevered pitch. Carol (Victor's ex) is played by Jill Drexler, Vicky (Carol's daughter) is played by: Angie Englebert, Claudia (Victor's new trophy wife) is played by Clarissa G. Rasberry, Sonny (Victor and Carol's son) is played by Tom Hall. Allan Salkin portrays Victor, (Carol's ex) and Will Schooley portrays Rick (Victor's lawyer). The San Diego premiere performance of Killjoy is directed by David Rethoret and produced by Jarin Satterlee. –Adult themes and language, not suitable for children or young teens. Her previous works include; Clair in Rumors, Evie in Gingerbread Lady and Lucille in The Cemetery Club. She has recently enjoyed working at several other theatres including: North Coast Repertory Theatre as Halie in Buried Child and Shirley in What's Wrong With This Picture; 6th @ Penn Theatre as Nessa in Fit To Be Tied, Diversionary as Myrna and Myrna in The Minneola Twins and at the Sledgehammer as Clytemnestra in Furious Blood. In addition to theatre roles, Jill has several film credits that include The Married Men's Club, The Michael Landon Jr. Story with Cheryl Ladd and The Big Fix with Richard Dreyfuss. She is currently the Artistic Director for Scripps Ranch Theatre and holds memberships in the Screen Actors Guild and the Actors Alliance of San Diego. This is the fourth time Jill has played a wife who plots to murder her husband and would like to reassure her real life husband that it is merely coincidence and not type casting. |  | Angie Englebert (Vicki) | | Angie is enjoying her first appearance at SRT. At Indiana State University she enjoyed the roles of Gretel in Beanie and the Bamboozling Book Machine, Knowledge in Everyman, and Madame X/Y in The Stronger. She has also worked at the Horsefeathers and Applesauce Dinner Theatre in Kansas as The Maid in Singin' In The Rain and Olivia's Attendant in Twelfth Night. Angie is an Equity Membership Candidate from Indiana who is proud to be making her San Diego debut here at Scripps Ranch Theatre. When not at rehearsal or working to save for graduate school, you can catch her belting out Madonna tunes at a local karaoke bar. |  | Tom Hall (Sonny) | | This is Tom's first show at SRT. His recent work has been at North Coast Repertory Theatre, in Relatively Speaking. In Wilmington, NC, he appeared at the City-Stage Theatre in Beyond Therapy, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Play It Again Sam and Fuddy Meers; at the SRO Theatre in Little Murders; and at Thalian Hall in Inherit The Wind and Art. Tom received his B.A. in Theatre at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2003. While in Wilmington, he made his directorial debut with Sohpie Treadwell's expressionistic drama, Machinal, also at the SRO Theatre. He spent over two years as a regular in The Comically Impaired Improv Troupe. Tom moved to San Diego in 2003 |  | Clarissa G. Rasberry (Claudia) | | Clarissa is also new to SRT. Her most recent experience was at The El Paso Playhouse, in Dimly Perceived Threats To The System. Clarissa and her husband, Justiss, recently moved here from El Paso, Texas, and love it here. She has a passion for life and loves her family and friends. She loved acting from a young age but didn't know she would be fortunate enough to study theatre in New York. She wants to learn as much as possible here at Scripps Ranch Theatre. |  | Allan Salkin ( Victor) | | Allan is appearing for the first time on our stage. An east-coast transplant, his only other San Diego appearance was as the Governor/Innkeeper in Man of La Mancha with La Jolla Stage Company. He has extensive theatre credits in the Princeton, NJ area prior to moving to Scripps Ranch nine years ago, including productions at McCarter Theatre -- the NJ equivalent of the Old Globe -- and he can be seen (briefly) in such films as Wall Street and Big. Favorite stage roles include Matt in Talley’s Folly, Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Murray in A Thousand Clowns, Pseudolus in ...Forum, Oscar in The Odd Couple, and the First Gangster in Kiss Me, Kate. He also has been privileged in a number of plays to be cast opposite his wife, Marty. Allan is an alumnus of Rutgers University and has had a corporate and consulting career in human resources management. Other prime interests include grandkids Willy, Robby, Christina and Alexandre. |  | Wilson Schooley (Rick) (Voice of Father Mulcahey) | | Wilson is making his first SRT appearance. He performs in theater, television, comedy-improv, and film. Theater work includes the leads (Maxim De Winter) in Rebecca and (Bruce Lovell) Love From a Stranger for Lamplighter’s, and Will in Far Side of Paradise at 6th@Penn, a Marine Drill Instructor in Ensemble Arts Theatre’s acclaimed Tracers, Cruella De Ville in Ensemble Art’s 101 Dalmatians, Albert Einstein and Arnold Schwarzenegger for Lamb’s Player’s Theater, Inspector Elliot in The Shop at Sly Corner, Robert in SD Actor’s Theater’s Blind Date, and a Nazi officer in the Bowery Theater’s award winning Bent. He has danced for Center City Ballet in West Side Story, Cinderella, The Nutcracker and as Bottom in Midsummer Night’s Dream. His most recent television work includes a wealthy playboy in America’s Most Wanted, a troubled father in Appointment with Destiny, and several commercials. Wilson is also an attorney, Adjunct Law Professor at the USD, published writer, photographer, and magazine editor. |

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION TEAM | Gordon Bergholtz (Sound Design) | | Gordon is coming to the SRT for the first time. He has a solid background in sound engineering as he was once a professional sound engineer for a touring rock n' roll band in the midwest. He enjoys travel, cooking with his wife, outdoor activities and sports. Gordon and his wife have lived in the Scripps Ranch area for more than 3 years. |  | Rebecca Bergholtz (Assistant Director) | Rebecca is joining SRT for the first time and is excited to join the team. This is her first time as an Assistant Director. Although she has not been involved in theatre since high school, she has enjoyed many productions from the audience’s perspective. When not at the theatre, she enjoys gourmet cooking and travel with her husband. They’ve lived in Scripps Ranch for three years and look forward to many more here. | | | Rick Carlson (Set Design & Set Construction Manager) | | Rick has worked on all of the sets at Scripps Ranch Theater in the past four years. He has designed some and helped with others. He enjoys building the sets, but his biggest thrill is when the actors bring them to life. He has had the pleasure of working with many talented actors and directors. He says “We try to maintain a high standard at Scripps Ranch Theater. Our main goal is to entertain you. Thanks for your support and enjoy the show.” Rick has been a Police Officer for 35 years, and the theater gives him a wonderful diversion. He feels it is a great hobby. He also paints and has written a book that will be published this summer. In 2002 he received the ACT 2002 Aubrey for Set Design of Lend Me A Tenor and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. | | Cindy Cetinske (Costume Designer) | | The last time Cindy worked at SRT she was the Costume Designer for Wrong Turn At Lungfish. She received her MFA from SDSU in Costume Design and has designed for the former San Diego Gilbert and Sullivan Company including shows such as Mikado, HSM Pinafore, and Pirates of Penzance. Her designs for Yeoman of the Guard were nominated for a Costume Design award by the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle. She has also designed for The National Theatre for Children and Lawrence Welk Dinner Theatre. She enjoys hiking and traveling. | | Roger Drexler (Prop Master) | Roger is pleased to be returning to SRT. He previous work includes Property Manager on Cemetary Club, Gingerbread Lady, Rumors and set construction on Arsenic and Old Lace. His most recent work elsewhere includes: Married Men's Club (film) – extra, The Sisters Rosensweig - North Coast Repertory Theatre – props, The Wisdom of Eve - Lamplighters Theatre - stage crew, Ride Down Mt. Morgan - Powpac - stage crew, Furious Blood - Sledgehammer - stage crew. He says, “My love of theatre and of my wife have driven me to my current distracted condition. I'm told recovery may take awhile." |  | Dave Rethoret (Director) | | This will be Dave’s fourth directorial work at SRT. Previously he directed The Fantasticks, Chorus Line, and the 2002 season’s I Ought To Be In Pictures. He has also acted in Bermuda Avenue Triangle and The Deadly Game winning Aubrey awards for both plays. He was last seen as the blind professor, Ravenswaal, in last season’s Wrong Turn At Lungfish. Dave is also an SRT board member. Dave’s most recent work elsewhere, in November he directed You Should Be So Lucky at OnStage Playhouse in Chula Vista. Dave has been involved in over 100 theatrical productions in San Diego and Oregon as actor, director or sometimes both. He has received 7 Best Actor, 5 Best Director and numerous supporting and minor role awards. He is a retired aerospace materials engineer and lives in La Mesa with his wife Peggy, a San Diego fire captain and paramedic. |  | Jarin Satterlee (Producer) | | Jarin is new to SRT. He joined the board this year and Killjoy is his first show. Jarin has extensive experience in Stage Management, including these plays; Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You, Beyond Therapy, Mrs. Sorken, Jane and Mary Doe, For Whom The Southern Belle Tolls, and I=GOD2. Jarin loves to be behind the scenes in theatre. His only real acting gig was the lead role in a film short called Dieting Is A Nightmare. Outside of the theatre Jarin has many hobbies including programming, fishing, poker, dinner and movie nights with friends and animals (of all kinds). His joy in life is his African Grey Parrot, Apache, who will not speak on command. However, he does choose inappropriate times to talk and make noise non-stop. Jarin would like to thank the cast and crew for all the hard work and dedication it takes to make this an enjoyable experience for the audience. |  | Stacie Shelby (Stage Manager) | Stacie is excited to return to SRT. She enjoyed being the Stage Manager on I Ought to Be in Pictures and Rumors, and was part of the crew on How to Succeed in Business. Her recent work elsewhere includes: a student cabaret of The Good Doctor (Stage Manager), Stage Door (Production Assistant) and Two Gentlemen of Verona (Crew). She is currently a second year theatre major at UCSD. | | | Mitchell Simkovsky (Lighting Designer) | Mitchell is very happy to be returning to SRT once again. Having designed lighting for Lend Me A Tenor (Aubrey Nomination), Wrong Turn at Lungfish and How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (Aubrey Award). Some of other production credits include lighting for Spiral, Nutcracker, Little Shop of Horrors, and Much Ado About Nothing. He has designed lights for over twenty productions in the San Diego area since 1999 including plays, musicals, dance, performance art, and religious services. He obtained his B.A in Theater Arts and Business Administration from Chico State and is now studying at SDSU to earn his MFA in Theater Arts. Mitchell is currently a member of the United States Institute of Theater Technology. | | Alicia Wescott (Light/SoundTech) | This is Alicia's 8th show at SRT, switching both light and sound functions with Maya Zapata. She is currently a junior at Scripps Ranch High School. Alicia enjoys horseback riding and photography. | | Maya Zapata (SoundLight Tech) | This is Maya’s 8th show at SRT. She especially enjoys working with friends Alicia and Stacie. She is a junior at Scripps Ranch High School and is actively involved in its Drama, Film, and French clubs. Maya loves singing, film, fashion and literature, and aspires to be an actor. |
