Ronald Lennert Elected Executive Director
Of Scripps Ranch Theatre
Ronald Jon Lennert, a former Scripps Ranch Theatre (SRT) board associate and most recently a member of the Board of Directors involved in fund-raising and grants, has been elected executive director of the 31-year-old theater organization. As executive director, Lennert holds the top elected position in the organization.
He succeeds Jim Caputo who served in the position for three years and who was involved in SRT in several capacities over the past 10 years, including several highly successful turns as director. He is currently directing “Not Now, Darling,” the theater’s next production.
Lennert will serve along with an executive team of Jill Drexler, artistic director; and Allan Salkin, producing director.
A Scripps Ranch resident, Lennert was raised in a theater-oriented family and is a self-described “theater junkie.” He and his wife, Diane, are long-time and enthusiastic supporters of theater, opera and music.
“I feel very honored and fortunate to serve at this time,” Lennert said. “Scripps Ranch Theatre has taken major steps over the past several years to become one of the premier theaters in San Diego. We have our sights set on continuing development of what we consider to be an excellent organization.”
In his professional life, Lennert has held key positions with IBM and the Grossmont Union High School District. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, but moved to San Diego in 1966. He is a graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in speech communication.
Now in its 31st year, Scripps Ranch Theatre consistently produces high quality and entertaining theater. SRT has earned a reputation as one of the finest small theaters in San Diego.
